In 2023, EFA developed a comprehensive plan on climate change. As a key component of our new 2023-2025 programmatic approach, through the Climate Change: raise awareness on the health impacts of climate change-driven risk factors such as air pollution, heat, pollen, sandstorms, wildfire emissions etc; and bring allergy and respiratory patients in Europe to the heart of developing policies on climate change that respond to their health needs.
To this end, EFA’s climate change programme for 2023 outlined several steps for the organisation: submitting applications to ensure sustainable funding, including from relevant foundations but also re-orienting EFA’s internal structures to facilitate EFA members’ input on climate change issues.
