I am happy to report that our financial year ended with a surplus of 937 EUR, which is 18,342 EUR lower than we budgeted. From our overall income of 1,383,703 EUR, we report 1,078,503 EUR to 2023, while as like last year, we defer 305,200 EUR into 2024 to support ongoing and planned activities, especially in projects. Therefore, expenses of 1,077,566 EUR match our income.
We invested into our members community and spent 66,300 EUR to support their direct participating in EFA’s work through the translation of reports, the engagement in social media campaigns and use of social media templates and bringing EFA tools closer to their membership.
As we all know, all costs have increased, including costs affecting an international network like EFA: travel, accommodation, services and many more. As we take responsibility on our environment, and the changes affecting the patients we represent, in 2023 we were extra careful defining the activities that could happen online, from those that should happen in-person to advocate our cause and to connect the community. In the following year, I want to explore our present core-support grant requests amounts which have been the same since 2016.
We have also reviewed EFA’s insurance policy, making sure that it corresponds with the new laws, and that also our volunteers, including the members of EA Board, are covered in their duties for EFA. We have also invested in organisational development to be more effective in serving our community.
Our organisational and social reserve is 490,043.63 EUR. It is in a dedicated savings account and has remained stable.
We will have at least two new sustainable corporate partners in 2024, and I look forward to us exploring foundations to support our patient’s perspective in Prevention and Climate Change.
