A new asthma patients' hub for better management and quality of life:
Improving access to asthma information for patients and their families

Context

The management of asthma requires understanding the underlying conditions, knowledge about specific triggers, recognition of symptoms/signs and a tailored treatment. Asthma control remains relatively poor in Europe and across the world, and patients do not always have access to sufficiently accurate educational resources to help managing the disease.

This webinar is the occasion to discuss the importance of asthma health literacy and of having access to scientifically validated information designed and written for asthma patients and families. 

Objectives

• Foster the discussion among healthcare professionals, patients and carers on the importance of health literacy to improve asthma care.
• Promote AboutAsthma.org to facilitate the access to updated information for patients to better understand and care asthma.

An expert panel will discuss asthma health literacy and of expanding access to scientifically validated information designed and written for asthma patients and carers. Following a lively discussion, our webinar will present a brand new educational website – AboutAsthma.org, launched by the European Federation of Allergies and Airways Diseases Patients’ Organisations (EFA), in collaboration with the Global Allergy and Airways Patients Platform (GAAPP).

AboutAsthma.org is addressed to asthma patients and carers with lay content to help better understand, improve disease management and ultimately patients’ quality of life.
