On the 12th and 13th of October 2015, EFA organised its 6th annual Meet and Greet training session for members. This session focuses on the functioning of the European Union and policies related to the health of patients with asthma, allergy and COPD.
The goal of the training was twofold: we aimed to give members an overview of the work of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union in the area of healthcare. We also provided a session to learn about funding opportunities provided by the European Commission, as well as communication strategies with policy-makers.
The long-term objective of this programme is to provide support and assistance to EFA members who wish to increase their advocacy activity, both at the EU and national level. In total, nine representatives from five countries took part in the training. The event was a great success with positive feedback form those who took part. Each year we request feedback and incorporate it into our planning for the next session, so that we continually improve the session for our members. The report is available here.
