The U-BIOPRED project has published “A short guide to successful patient involvement in EU-funded research”. The booklet was produced by the project’s Patient Input Platform, a group of asthma patients who participated and contributed to research activities within U-BIOPRED.

This publication is a milestone to increase patients’ participations in research. During the 6 years of U-BIOPRED, PIP patients collected tips and suggestions to promote patients involvement in all stages of project lifecycle in a meaningful way.  The guide is addressed to individual applicant or to project consortium willing to the benefit of EU research funding, and it will serve to include the patients perspective form the preparation of the project proposal, to the end of project activities and beyond.

The booklet was presented for the first time by Dominique Hamerlijnck (PIP member) at the meeting of the “European Patients‘ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation” (EUPATI) in Barcelona, and has been officially launched by the PIP Chair David Supple at the IMI workshop “Patient Engagement Strategy for Innovative Medicines” on April 28th.
