The myAirCoach project has concluded its second year of implementation and the consortium met the European Commission to present all achievements so far and the plans for 2017.
For this technical review, the consortium of which we, together with our Member Asthma UK are the patient leads, presented the first data of the studies involving asthma patients currently running in London, Leiden and Manchester and disclosed the plans for the campaigns for the validation of the myaircoach system that are supposed to take place from September on in the same clinical sites. During the meeting we also presented the state-of-the-art of the mobile device prototype and had some demos related to the smartinhaler, the mobile app and online platform, the system for feedback on inhalation techniques, the computational modelling and the virtual community platform.
The Commission is in general impressed about the intermediate findings as well as about the management and the communication around the project. The minor deviations and related counter measures presented were well received by the Commission, and are considered not to be an obstacle in the achievement of the final myAircoach objectives.
myAirCoach at CeBIT
One week after the technical review, a myAirCoach delegation had the honour to be at CeBIT, the global event for digital business. myAirCoach was invited to have a stand at the EU village and had exhibitions from the 22nd till the 24th march, where the smartinhaler prototype was presented for the first time to such a big audience. Next event where you can meet myAIrCoach partner is the eHealth Week, taking place between the 10th and 12th of Mya in Malta.
