Welcome to a powerful 2019!
This year, we will have exciting new projects and events coming up! The EFA Annual General Meeting will take place in March just before the European Elections in May. In connection, there will be a public meeting at the European Parliament ‘A Roadmap for Allergy and Airways Diseases’, planned for the 20 March. Furthermore, we invite you to already save the date for the 2nd Atopic Eczema Day in September.
Our 2019 projects include among others our Capacity Building project. But also the European Parliament Interest Group on Allergy and Asthma is going to continue its engagement on putting allergy and asthma on top of the European agenda - new members after the election will bring additional support in doing so. On research, the CURE project continues already the second year, striving for a preventative approach to asthma; and we will lead the task on Communication and Dissemination. As in 2018, the HTA regulation is still a pending topic that we are closely going to follow.
Regarding new projects, our EFA Patients Challenge Campaign can already be mentioned, promoting a 10 steps roadmap based on evidence arising from our dedicated survey on access (asthma, COPD) in 2018. We have number of other projects cooking, and will write more when they are ripe.
This shortcut on our activities allows already to anticipate what an exciting year 2019 is going to be! At EFA we are already curious about the lively dynamic the elections will bring to Brussels and the European level, being a chance to strengthen the voice of people living with allergy, asthma and COPD.
For the time being, we wish you all a good start into 2019 and count of you for partnership!
