On June 8, EFA hosted a special Atopic Eczema Working Group call, specifically focussing on coronavirus and atopic eczema. With the support of organizers and researchers involved in the SECURE-AD registry, EFA members got a scientific insight in how COVID-19 is affecting people living with atopic eczema.

COVID-19, dermatology and concerns of patients

After a short welcome and introduction, as members of the SECURE-AD Steering Group, Prof Carsten Flohr, Dr Conor Broderick and Dr Angela Bosma provided an overview about COVID-19, dermatology and the concerns and uncertainties in people with atopic eczema.

EFA members had been invited to share questions with the experts in beforehand as to allow addressing particular areas of concern.

The working group call continued with an overview on the SECURE-AD registry and a questions & answers session between EFA members and the scientific expert panel.

We would like to thank Prof Flohr, Dr Broderick, Dr Bosma, Prof Phyllis Spuls and Annelie Musters from the SECURE-AD registry for their time and availability. Special thanks also to Bernd Arents for connecting EFA and SECURE-AD and organizing this important working group call.
