EFA Member Asthma-Allergy Denmark has worked, in collaboration with the allergy label Asthma-Allergy Nordic, to approve hypoallergenic face masks.
Allergenic substances in disposable mouthpieces can include latex or rubber chemicals in the elastic, rosin and the preservatives MI and formaldehyde in the fabric-like material or nickel in the nose clip, if it is made of metal.
These allergy-labelled masks do not contain ingredients with a particular risk of causing skin allergies, hence they minimize the likelihood of allergic reactions.
