EFA Member Allergy and Me, Serbia, is seeking support from the EFA network, partners and industry to improve their website through optimisation of existing infrastructure and some new additions including a web shop, connections to patient services and paid promotion.

Despite limited resources, their website has already served as an essential resource to their regional allergy and asthma patient community, offering informative publications on various diseases, patients’ rights and association activities. However, their audience has outpaced their website’s capacity and they are now seeking assistance to meet a growing need.

A note from Allergy and Me:

Since 2016, our organization independently launched the website www.alergijaija.com. The site was set up by the initiator of the association, in an amateur way, with a free WordPress theme and domain.

Despite this, the site is highly visited and is visited by 30,000 to 50,000 readers per month, with between 42,000 and 73,000 page views, with an average stay on the site of 2.57 minutes.

In these seven years, our website featured 558 publications:

  • 276 on allergies
  • 130 on atopic dermatitis
  • 81 on asthma
  • 74 on allergic rhinitis
  • 145 informed the community about the activities carried out by the association
  • 41 dealt with general health and the health rights of patients

Our site needs reorganization and modernization. Traffic on the site has become overloaded, pages are more difficult to open, it has slowed down. The visibility of the focused activities of the association is not adequate.

It needs to be connected to our other site (www.alergolosko-savetovaliste.com), which we created specifically for the time of Covid 19, and which will continue to provide free allergy counselling services in the coming period because we think it is necessary. It also needs to be connected to social networks and to enable the download of free materials. Additionally, we are planning to set up an online shop on the website, which will contain products (shirts, hats, mugs, badges...) whose income will be used to support the work of our association.

It is necessary to optimize the website, to increase visibility, to make it easier and simpler for patients to find important information, as well as for partners and decision makers, to find information about our project activities and the work of our association. Moreover, it needs to be adaptable to mobile phones, tablets and computers.

We believe that the site could provide patients with educational and informative content in a more accessible way, to connect them with each other, with our association, so that the community would be stronger and more determined in realizing their health rights. Patients need a solid platform with defined goals, educational content and easier access to expert advice. Also, our improved website aims to give our decision makers and partners an easier insight into our work and project activities. Visual identity is very important, so we will adapt all visuals and enable easier recognition on the web.

We need to do the following steps:

  • Customized design of the web portal - in cooperation with an expert design team in order to improve the User Experience of the portal, taking into account our previous experience and data collected over the years.
  • Improving the WordPress CMS, optimizing the use of plugins, creating a custom theme, which would overall speed up the portal, relieve work and make it easier for visitors to find their way around.
  • Setting up a web shop for products whose sales help the work of our association.
  • Setting up a fully responsive portal; Harmonized functionalities and display on mobile phones, tablets and computers; Mobile first.
  • The possibility of easier changes, additions and later adjustments to the portal. Easier integration with social networks, as well as other websites of organizations, individuals, companies...
  • The possibility of entering pages in multiple languages and generally greater accessibility of the portal through multilingualism.
  • Lease of more stable and faster hosting in order to improve the speed and reliability of work.
  • Training of our associates for easier and faster entry and changes of content on the web portal, as well as preparation of higher quality posts for social networks.
  • Connecting to the platform of the free allergological counselling center for patients - alergolosko-savetovaliste.com
  • Social media support and paid advertisements for the promotion of the website, web shop and allergy counselling center.

The services of programmers, copywriting and designers for these services amount to: 4,500 euros, and we plan to allocate 1,500 euros for the promotion of the site through social networks in 6 months.

Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to improve the work of the site and the platform ourselves, and we believe that it is necessary to reorganize the site in order for our association to develop and progress linearly.

Your support is very important to us. Could you help us?

We would appreciate any contribution, regardless of the total value of the project, as we hope to be able to gradually pay the developers and designers, and of course we hope that someone else will help us.

*Invoices for all services will be sent to you after the project is completed.
