The newest project for EFA is being offered to its members. The new Capacity Building Project is a chance for EFA members to participate in a new project aiming to bring them into a position to contribute to run their own projects and organizations more effectively while improving their ability to become involved in EFA projects. EFA already has successful experiences planning capacity building exercises for its members such as the EFA "Meet and Greet" the EU Institutions Trainings and the EFA Involvement with the EMA Training. However, EFA now identified a need to take capacity building one step further and offer increased support to its members at the national level. Each meeting would be customized for the specific needs of members participating ranging from strengthening collaboration with national stakeholders, developing sustainable funding strategies and identifying better ways to recruit committed volunteers. In the pilot year of the project, it was agreed to have three meetings with members in three different European countries. EFA members were requested to reply to a survey which outlined a selection criteria. Following the EFA Board's approval, the meetings were agreed should take place in Italy, Portugal and Lithuania. The recruitment of interpreters for non-local participants, such as EFA secretariat representatives, will permit the meetings to involve as many vital representatives of each EFA member organization as necessary to assure a rich and inclusive internal dialogue. The provision of an expert moderator will dually help participating members identify key barriers hindering their organization's future capacity. When meetings are confirmed and documents become publicly available, they will be posted to this webpage below.
