Synair-G and the IDEAL Cluster

EFA is part of SynAir-G, one of seven projects within the EU-funded IDEAL Cluster initiative addressing the health impacts of indoor air pollution. The project focuses on improving understanding of air quality in schools and developing practical solutions to protect vulnerable groups. EFA leads the project’s communications and contributes to the cluster’s overall policy work, translating scientific findings into actionable recommendations for policymakers.
LungHealth4Life

The LungHealth4Life (LH4L) project brings spirometry lung checks with lessons on why lung health matters. It aims to support early detection, encourage healthy habits from a young age and reduce the risk of chronic respiratory disease later in life.
EFA leads the project’s Community of Practice, a network of patient groups, teachers, healthcare professionals and public health experts. Members help shape project resources, join capacity-building activities and have access to exclusive materials.
TOLIFE

The TOLIFE project develops and clinically validates an AI solution to improve the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Using data from unobtrusive sensors, it aims to predict exacerbations earlier, support more personalised care and improve quality of life for people living with COPD. EFA coordinates the Patient Advisory Group, bringing together COPD patient representatives, including from our member organisations. This group helps ensure the project reflects patients’ needs, uses clear language and focuses on outcomes that make a real difference in daily life.
3TR

3TR is a research project that studies why some patients respond to treatment while others do not. It looks across seven chronic conditions, including respiratory diseases, to understand what drives these different responses. The goal is to help doctors choose the right treatment from the start, instead of relying on trial and error. EFA is part of the project’s Patient Advisory Committee. Together with other patient organisations and experts, we bring the perspectives of people with respiratory and allergic diseases into the research so that 3TR’s work stays relevant to patients’ real needs and future care.
Immuniverse

ImmUniverse is an EU research project that looks for better ways to diagnose and monitor atopic eczema and ulcerative colitis. For atopic eczema, the project examines skin and blood samples to understand how the disease develops and how patients respond to treatment. EFA brings the voice of people living with atopic eczema into ImmUniverse. Through a Patient Input Platform, patient experts from the EFA members of the Atopic Eczema Working Group comment on study plans and materials, give their perspective on the results and help shape how findings are shared.
