MyAirCoach kick-off meeting: the quest for an asthma and COPD self-management tool

In January, the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas, the project coordinator, hosted the kick-off meeting of myAirCoach project in Thessaloniki, Greece. The project, funded by EU Programme Horizon 2020, brings together 12 research centres, academia, patient organisations and innovative SMEs from all over Europe, including EFA and Asthma UK. The meeting was an exciting opportunity for consortium members to discuss the project and its aims from their various perspectives. The aim is to develop a patient-friendly and personalised asthma monitoring system, that will contribute to the empowerment of patients, by allowing patients with allergy and COPD to manage their health more actively.04. MyAirCoach During the meeting, EFA presented our contribution over the next three years. EFA will lead the dissemination activities and promote findings and results to EFA members, patients and the general public. We will also co-chair a Patient Representatives Board and co-host a dedicated Consultative Patient Forum (CPF) together with Asthma UK, to ensure the inclusion of the patients’ perspective across all of the project, so that the disease management models proposed address real needs and  the language used will be understandable lay people.
