This month EFA launched its 2015 Capacity Building project.
Capacity Building Ireland
The first meeting took place in Dublin on the 16th of October, where EFA’s representatives Antje Fink-Wagner, Giuseppe De Carlo and Joke De Vocht met the staff of the Asthma Society of Ireland. The objective of the meeting was to transfer knowledge on two specific topics, namely partnership with corporates and participation in EU projects. Both are topics which the Asthma Society of Ireland consider will be key for the strategic development of the organization in the following years.
The meeting was divided into two sessions. During the first session, we analysed the funding of the Asthma Society of Ireland, in order to identify those areas were development could be achieved. The discussion focused in particular on how to attract private partners at a national level and how to develop a framework for a sustainable corporate partnership that could guarantee sufficient funding for the organization’s projects and core operational costs. The second session focused on identifying suitable funding opportunities at a European level, in particular under the Horizon2020 and the Third Public Health Programme, and on how to participate in a project. As part of the session participants were given practical experience of being what is involved in being part of a project, including work on producing a sample project proposal and covering specific terminology which is used in project management.
What's Next?
