EFA participated in the European Medicines Agency Patients and Consumers Working Party meeting on the 21st September were eligible organisations were to elect a new patient representative to chair the group. During the first part of the meeting, the topic of personalised medicine was discussed especially on how to make the process from general healthcare to personalised treatment open and participatory for patients. EFA Vice-President presented to the group the results of the EFA latest research on adherence to treatment of young patients with asthma.
In the afternoon, EMA representatives presented the draft 2017 plans for the Healthcare Professionals and the Patients and Consumers parties, which were adopted. EFA Communications Manager Isabel Proaño presented the Guidance and Best Practices for the Acknowledgement and Promotion of Patients input into EMA activities, a document prepared by a topic group with the same name that she is co-chairing with the EMA.
