French and German speaking Swiss pupils, can now explore the air they breathe though an online platform put developed by Swiss federal office of environment. EFA Member the Swiss LungenUnion has collaborated in the project.
The platform is teen-friendly for young people to learn what good air quality means and how they can actively influence it through online games and activities. Like this, not only they become representatives for a better air quality but also study in a nicer way. Altogether the page contains enough material for 12 to 16 lessons about the air that we breathe (air, health, summer and winter smog, benzene and air pollution).
The pupils gather their findings and conclusions in a learning journal which is provided on the page. Besides the providing of informations adequate for the respective age of the pupils, a large focus is set on the experimental approach to the topic.
Luftlabor and explor’air will be shortly available in Italian. The platforms are provided by a large number of partners, including the Swiss federal office of environment, the Swiss lung association, the Swiss cancer foundation, the offices for air pollution control of the cantons, the Swiss metal foundation, Husqvarna Switzerland, Motorex, Stihl Vertriebs AG, Honda Switzerland AG.
