The introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation in 2018 has risen concerns on the ownership and use of personal data. The use of personal data is necessary in medical research to enable new discoveries in chronic diseases and for the development of new and more effective treatments.
So how can we find a balance between the need for privacy and the great opportunities that exploiting these data offers? Who owns our data and who is entitled to use it? And what role can patient groups have in that?
EFA Webinar focuses on patient organisations’ role in data collection and use
To address all these questions the next EFA Capacity Building webinar focuses on ‘The role of patient organisations in collecting and sharing patients’ data for research.’ It will take place on May 29th at 1pm CET.
The webinar will be hosted by Scott Wagers, CEO and Founder of BioSci Consulting, and Christoph Thalheim from the European Multiple Sclerosis Platform, who will both share their professional experience.
