EFA consists of 38 national patient associations from across Europe, each organistaion varies in their disease focus, capacity and resources. Through capacity building, EFA aims to enable its members to achieve meaningful results in their own initiatives and to reach an expert position allowing them to contribute to EFA’s objectives.
EFA Capacity Building Project started in 2014 and was designed according to the results of an internal Membership Survey. Participating members are chosen annually, based on their interest and their fulfillment of the project evaluation criteria.
In 2015 we involved another two EFA members in this capacity building programme, each with differing needs and capacities. We developed, in consultation with the selected participants, tailored programmes for each and we introduced new sessions to the programme.
In addition to this activity we organized a follow-up session with a participant organization from the previous year, in order to assess the ongoing impact of the project and to provide further training on specific topics.
